1. Watermelon available in many types and different flesh too such as yellow, orange and red. If you are beginner, try to plant smaller types such as Honey Red or Sugar Baby.

2. Don’t pick too small container if you want to grow watermelon. That’s the biggest mistake always taken by the beginners. Prepare at least a large container and plenty of soil, give fertilizer regularly. You can also find a container that especially designed for multiple plants.

3. You have to plant the seeds directly into the soil of container. However, it’s better to use potting soil to fill up the container. You can get the soil from nursery and mix it with composted manure or compost.

4. Don’t forget to water the soil routinely and put it in a sunny location.

Tips:

Watermelon needs a lot of water, that’s why you have to give water regularly. Never let the soil becomes dry. In order to encourage fruiting, use a fertilizer high in phosphorus and give it every 30 to 60 days. The vines may growing out of containers, please prepare extra support.
